RED EPIC DRAGON
This camera has an extremely wide dynamic range and very high color sensitivity.
The camera RED EPIC DRAGON was produced by the company Red Digital Cinema, in 2012. With the 6K RED DRAGON® sensor, you can capture over 9x more pixels than HD. Tests made by RED experts have shown that the dynamic range of the new matrix will be more than 18 degrees. Although in characteristics of the matrix the company specifies figure of 16.5+.
Improvements to micro-contrast and MTF produce a cleaner image, drastically reducing moiré and aliasing artifacts. When outputting 6K files to 4K or HD, your image will appear more refined and detailed compared to those captured at lower resolutions.
6K resolution translates to over 19 MP (6144 x 3160), and if you remember about the camera RED Epic which was established as the DSMC – Digital Still & Motion Camera (camera and professional DSLR) you can safely say that the camera with the matrix RED Dragon 6K with the ability to shoot at the same time at a speed of 100 frames per second is also a perfect photo camera.
When you can capture up to 100 frames per second at full resolution, you get 100 chances per second to capture the perfect picture. RED also announced that their engineers have achieved a great progress in hardware and software configures of the sensor.
The RED DRAGON sensor blurs the line between motion and still cameras, giving you the best of both worlds. All existing accessories, rail components, and modules designed for EPIC-X or M are compatible regardless of what sensor is installed. Red Dragon is now working better and more qualitatively, it was managed to add the ability to shoot in HDRx that, according to RED, was a very difficult task.
REDMAG has a higher data transfer rate, that allowing capturing high-speed frames with less compression. RED has also presented a novelty REDMAG Mini, which allows to reduce the time for copying the material in 2 times.
