A modern interpretation of Joseph Petzval’s 1840 optical design. These lenses deliver a distinctive visual character built around a sharp center and a painterly swirl in the out-of-focus areas, enhanced by warm veiling glare and gentle flares.

The focus-coupled bokeh control system allows adjusting the swirl intensity across seven levels via a dedicated ring – without shifting focus, enabling smooth visual transitions in motion.

Designed with cinematography in mind, the lenses feature de-clicked control rings, a 180° focus throw, and standard 0.8 mod gears for seamless integration with follow-focus systems.

A dual aperture system expands creative possibilities, allowing both traditional exposure control and the use of drop-in plates to shape bokeh into unique patterns.
