The RED EPIC-X camcorder was developed and released by Red Digital Cinema in 2012. This model replaced the legendary Red One camera and has already firmly established itself in the territory of Hollywood, actively displacing the previously unshakable film from there.

5K resolution, 16-bit color depth, RAW without loss of quality, 440 Mbps flow rate – all these are unique Epic-X features that no camera in the world can repeat.

Epic-X is the only camera in the world whose image quality can challenge the unsurpassed quality of film.

Epic-X provides the same image capabilities that a couple of years ago were available only to the largest majors, with their multi-million dollar budgets, completely equalizing in capabilities and thereby providing complete technical freedom to everyone absolutely equal to any of the largest Hollywood studios like Metro Golden Mayer, 20th Century Fox or Paramount Pictures, pushing technical resources to the background, completely giving primacy to creative competition, regardless of resource and budget capabilities.

As Colt once equalized the chances of the weak and the strong, Epic-X did the same between the rich and the poor in the movies. It is for giving this freedom to everyone now that Epic-X is an absolutely revolutionary camcorder.
