PXW-FS7M2 significantly optimizes the shooting process, being the best Sony camcorder for documentary filming and one of the most versatile Super 35 camcorders in the world. Its functionality has expanded significantly, in particular thanks to a completely new lens mount, a leading electronic automatic variable density neutral filter system and improved ergonomics, which opens up new possibilities for shooting.

The camera body is made of magnesium alloy, which is much lighter and stronger than aluminum. That is why the camera weighs only 2 kg. A shoulder pad is also provided here, which lengthens the handle of the SmartGrip system, rests on the shoulder and allows the operator to hold the camera in front of him without additional rigging.

The handles of the SmartGrip system include controls such as Zoom, Start/Stop and programmable keys. Thus, the operator can control the camera with one right hand and adjust the lens with the left. All handles can be tilted at various angles and supplemented with adapters and extension cords.

Immediately behind the lens mount is a retractable transparent filter. When the built-in ND filters are activated, the transparent filter is replaced by an electronic ND filter, which snaps into place, maintaining the desired focus. You can configure the electronic ND filter in three different modes, which are switched by a button on the control panel.

Manual adjustment of filter density from 2 to 7 steps is also available here. The main advantage of electronic filters is that you can adjust the depth of field with the aperture and exposure with ND. Thanks to this, no shifts in the color spectrum occur.
